Founding a Cosy Glamping Spot on the Isle of Skye
In 2018, I realised that the Isle of Skye had a growing need for tourist accommodation. After some research, I discovered the concept of glamping, which led to the creation of Loch Harport Pods. It took over a year of planning and groundwork before my first pod, “Tulip,” welcomed guests in August 2019.
Overcoming Challenges to Thrive in Glamping
Loch Harport Pods started with just one pod, “Tulip,” and expanded in 2020 with the addition of our second pod, “Poppy.” The timing was challenging, as the COVID lockdowns almost derailed everything before it even began. However, I persevered and have since thrived, with both pods fully booked for most of the year.
